Graduate Software Engineer Cambridge £20k - £25k Permanent My client and I are currently looking for a Graduate Software Engineer to join the Development team and help develop software for a growing range of scientific laboratory instrumentation and automation. Successful candidates will have a genuine passion for delivering robust and high quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Develop software and application solutions for our range of scientific and life science products using C# (.NET) - Take ownership of complex software tasks supporting the development of new and novel automation and instrumentation with guidance and mentoring from experienced team members - Testing and qualification of code, working with the hardware and automation - Solving practical "real world" engineering problems - Apply quality assurance practices to measure and improve software development quality, timeliness, efficiency, productivity, and other project and product characteristics. Qualifications: - Degree in software, engineering, science or other numerate discipline or equivalent experience - Be able to demonstrate object oriented design & programming skills - A track record of team-based software development in multiple projects during your career or education to-date - Ideally already have 1+ years of software development experience - understanding of object-orientation, programming principles, data structures and algorithms and design patterns. - Able to self-organise and fit into an on-going (agile) development process - An understanding of modern software development methodologies - Excellent written and verbal communication skills With experience of some of the following: - Automation, instrumentation or robotics - Windows application programming - Embedded (C, C++) and real time OS - Mathematical techniques and numerical methods - Graphical user interface design & implementation - Source control systems (e.g. SubVersion, Git) - Database programming with Oracle / MySQL If you are interested and would like to apply, then please send through a copy of your most up-to-date CV, together with a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and reference GST46026, to **************************
