Key accountabilities; - Payment of payroll and employee expenses on a timely basis to staff with correct deductions made in accordance with HMRC regulations and policy requirements - Monthly reconciliation and payment of pension contributions to the pension fund - Complete payroll and pension year ends and returns per the timetable set out by regulatory bodies - Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (payroll & pensions), interpret and evaluate changes and make recommendations to SET / Director of Financial Services. - Manage pensions related costs and provide information for managers - Monitor and maintain the pensions risk register - Produce accurate, well presented documents and reports with recommendations as required to support the Pensions Task Group (and any subsequent body established to maintain pension's governance arrangements). Papers will include: - Project risk maps - Monitoring reports on the defined benefit schemes - Regular reviews of the GPP scheme including proposals to encourage membership and ensure the scheme is attractive compared to the market for staff / new joiners - Regulatory / legal changes Key skills; - Working knowledge of payroll & pension procedures - GCSE English and Maths - Good IT skills - Experience of using a computerised payroll system - Good staff management skills - Good communication - Demonstrable supervisory experience, organising work and staff to perform effectively and meet all deadlines.
