The Company /Who We Are and What We Do My client designs, installs and maintains energy management systems and are a market leader in our particular field. We are ISO9001 accredited and a member of ESTA. We also have UL approval for our US product. We provide energy management controls to a broad range of clients with guaranteed savings regarding energy usage. My clients staff have over twenty years' experience in the energy saving field. Location Our offices are at North Central Manchester and Trafford Park. The Product We install ARM Cortex microcontroller based outstations near to heaters, in commercial and industrial premises. We network these outstations together over a CAN bus and control them from a Cortex microcontroller based panel. With this setup we aim to reduce fuel used for heating (mainly gas). The panel is then connected to a 4G router which allows access from our cloud based management system. Customers and our engineers have remote control of the system as if they were standing next to it. They also have charts of the temperatures, targets and various other historical data. The Role/ The Job Requires: - The Personality - Happy to work on their own or as part of a small team. - A determined problem solver - Responsible, conscientious and self-motivated - Able to demonstrate ability/expertise in programming Main Role - Help design new software and hardware offerings for our customers - Fault find and analyse existing system behaviour - Write and test embedded and server hosted software - Test & document software and write user manuals - Look after our customer portal - Work on new and existing projects, complete jobs to an appropriate timescale and budget Secondary Role - Contribute towards creating test gear and processes - Address general technical and IT issues - Customer and field engineer telephone support - Create software to support internal systems Called Upon To - Talk to customers. - Occasional PCB assembly (tuition provided). - Work away for customer/site visits (not frequently) The Candidate The Candidate Must Be Comfortable withsome of Qt , C / C++ on embedded Linux, Yocto, Web programming, HTML/JavaScript, C / C++ Nice to have Node/MongoDB Nice to have Familiarity with RS232/485, USB, CAN bus, BACnet, TCP/IP, Low power wireless Electronic design, PCB design This is a real opportunity for somebody looking for a broad role, to join a forward thinking, progressive and growing company, covering the energy management market.
