Job Description We are looking for two Apprentices to complete a 4-year training path way to Operations Management in Manufacturing/Production. The successful candidate will complete a Modern Apprenticeship, which is a work based training programme that leads to industry-approved qualifications. Duties/ Responsibilities: - All employees have the responsibility to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers - Commit to a programme of formal education to Degree level in Operations management over 4 years training programme - Develop knowledge and proficiency in HSE and Quality management to ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO18001 - Conduct investigations, find root causes, report findings, and deliver resultant actions within agreed timescales - Operate enclosing machine in line with technical production to shift trainer standard - Training operators and maintaining training records - Develop knowledge of logistics departments of sortation, despatch & warehousing - Support the Site continuous improvement activities - Initiate and implement improvements by working with relevant teams - Develop knowledge of the change control process - Lead small-scale change projects/support large scale change projects - Stand in for planner to cover routine planning meetings - Develop specialist knowledge of print operations and print management - Lead by example with regards to Health and Safety and manage those who compromise HSE rules Qualities / essential requirements - Be proficient on Microsoft office (Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook) - Self-motivated/driven - Committed to self-development - Resilient and outgoing - Team player - Analytical and innovative, with attention to detail Desired Qualifications - Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English - Computer literacy/ICT at Grade B or above Hours Flexible, in your approach and working times, this role will work on shifts patterns depending on the department they will be supporting. Those under 18 will work 8 hours per day 40 hours per week, working one of the following shifts: Day shift 7am - 3.30pm with 1/2 hour lunch or Night shift 3.30pm - 11pm with 1/2 hour lunch Those over 18 will work shift patterns are 12 hour shifts, with ½ hour lunch break / Day shift 6.45am - 7pm with 1/2 hour lunch or Night Shift 6.45pm - 7pm with 1/2 hour lunch Salary If you are over 18 or under 18, the salary will remain £12,500 per annum Important Information "QA's apprenticeship programmes may be funded in part by the European Union through the European Social Fund, which supports the development of employment opportunities and a skilled workforce."
