A major N.H.S Client of ours is currently looking for a head of Business Intelligence to head up the Information team. The ideal candidate will take lead responsibility for Business Intelligence within the Foundation Trust, both execution of the approved intelligence strategy, taken together with the upcoming quality strategy, and ensuring the smooth running of the operations. Lead on the delivery of continuous improvement in quality and efficiency of the Business Intelligence service delivering high standards of performance in all areas with services delivered within budget. To review the Business Intelligence service teams to ensure they are fit for purpose. The primary function of the service is to ensure the use of 'business' intelligence to enable the Foundation Trust's clinical treatment and care of patients, clinical and business services delivery, and planning and improvement both clinical quality and efficiency. This involves the delivery of: * An efficient and effective, standards-based service; * An appropriately qualified and experienced staff to promote and carry out business intelligence activities within a suitably configured organisational structure; * Interpretation and advice to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders within the organisation on the impact of business intelligence on the clinical and operations functions; * Appropriate business intelligence to support Foundation Trust clinical and business operational and managerial processes; Promote clinical and operational ownership of clinical data collections and outcome information. Collaborate with the Quality and Governance teams in the clinical outcomes, strategic, and tactical use of information. A specialist qualification, to Masters level, in management (or equivalent), or a similar level of knowledge gained through practical experience or specialist tuition in clinical and non-clinical business intelligence; Ability to implement strategic plans, including driving the maturity level of the Foundation Trust with respect to business intelligence. Advanced, expert level knowledge of the NHS clinical and non-clinical data and information agendas, all statutory and mandatory reporting (clinical and non-clinical), and the use of NHS data for business intelligence. Expert knowledge of legislation and mandatory requirements affecting NHS business intelligence. Preferably knowledge of formal project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, ideally at Practitioner level. Experience in management of large and complex projects from planning to implementation. Fluent user of Windows-based desktop productivity software, including Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Presentation tools. Experience in managing, supervising and developing staff. Experience in setting and managing budgets. Ability to work autonomously to agreed broad corporate objectives and without reference to line manager/director. Ability to work with quality and governance functions to jointly agree and implement improvement programmes. The ability to relay highly-complex information concepts and issues to all levels of staff from the front line through to the Board, within and out with the organisation, both orally and in written form. Strong relationship management skills. Self motivated and capable of demonstrating initiative. Good leadership, organisational and motivational skills.
