Junior / Mid-Level .NET Developer C# / ******* / SQL / MVC / CMS Zone 1, London Up to £35,000 + Benefits I am currently recruiting for a Junior / Mid-Level .NET Developer for a regulatory body within the health / medical sector. They understand that technology plays a huge part in their business and are looking for a smart, intelligent junior .NET developer that they can sit alongside a senior member of their tech team to learn, grow and improve their skill set. An understanding of backend C#, SQL and ******* essential as is some knowledge of the front end, CSS, HTML and Javascript. Spec: job purpose You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. The Website Development team works with a range of the latest Microsoft technologies such as .NET 4.5.1, ******* MVC 5, Entity Framework 6, WCF, Web API, SQL Server 2012, in an Agile environment. Main Accountabilities - To define, develop and document business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with key users and departments; - To implement best practice when developing applications, such as, security, documenting code, and standards; - To work with other members of the development team and utilise common approaches, use common tools, for the future development of applications; - To prepare regular reports on projects including progress and/or status. Provide regular reports on the performance and usage of website applications; - To review, monitor and evaluate website functionality to improve customer journey, performance, security, effectiveness and efficiency. To recommend improvements and modifications; - To develop and maintain support materials to allow an effective handover of new applications and to allow the Web Team to train end users to operate new or modified programs; - Produce high quality, automatically tested code through the use of test driven development or behaviour driven development; - Follow agreed Development Team principles around Continuous Integration and code deployment; - Continuously improving and re-factoring the code base and removing technical debt; - Provide third-line support for website issues faced by internal and external clients; - Liaise with external agencies and technical partners where appropriate. Essential Knowledge & Skills for this job - Degree level education with at least 2 years' experience in a related field; - Proven experience in C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, ******* MVC; - Experience of using SQL databases; - Understanding of web services implementation and use; - Experience of working in an Agile development environment, including test-driven development and the continuous integration process; - Expertise in applying Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Pattern techniques; - Knack for writing clean, readable C# code; - Knowledge of core internet technologies (IIS hosting, SSL, DNS, FTP and HTTP); - Knowledge of source control (Git, SVN); - Experience of designing websites and e-commerce applications with user experience in mind; - Solid understanding of full development life cycle; - Excellent written and oral communication, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders; - Ability to communicate ideas to internal and external clients in both technical and user-friendly language; - Highly self-motivated with the ability to work either on own initiative with a minimum of supervision and as a member of a small team; - Ability to work to deadlines and to deal with changing priorities as well as execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
