My client is currently seeking a talented and knowledgeable Network Engineer to be based onsite at our client's datacentre in Corsham, Wiltshire (commutable from areas such as Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Chippenham). This is a critical role provided onsite BAU support and project assistance to support our rapidly growing client, who has contracts with some of the largest business' in the UK. You will be from a focused and highly skilled networking background specialising in routing & switching but with experience spanning different technology vendors. Forming part of a small team onsite team you will provide dedicated support to our client's network infrastructure, ultimately responsible for some of the key equipment and technology that supports their 24/7 operation. Job description Main duties will involve: - Monitoring network performance (availability, utilization, throughput and latency), responding to anomalies and alarms to continuously improve network availability and stability - Providing resolution to network queries escalated from the service desk team such as hardware related faults, bandwidth monitoring, and general network troubleshooting - Configure, manage and maintain network environments spanning different vendor technologies - Assist with onsite project based installation and deployment work, new equipment & systems as required - Help define and adhere to network policies and procedures, including change control processes and governance, within our client's organisation - Utilising skills and knowledge to assist onsite service desk with case resolution, monitoring technical escalations - Meeting set KPI's Skills/Certification Requirements: In order to apply, you must have proven Network Administration experience gained in a similar role with demonstrable knowledge of Cisco, HP and Dell switching products. Cisco CCNA or equivalent is essential, CCNP/CCSP or equivalent experience would be advantageous. Technically, you will also need to demonstrate your experience in network design & security. Experience with MPLS, WAN and VPN networks is essential, as is experience in managing and configuring network equipment from multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper etc.). A CCNA/CCNP certification or similar is desirable and an understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server and ITIL would be advantageous but not essential at this stage.
