Title: Linux DevOps Engineer Location: London Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 Skills: Linux, Google Cloud, AWS, Python, PowerShell, Jenkins, Octopus, MySQL, SQL, Docker, Containerisation We urgently require a DevOps Engineer with some experience in Continuous Integration (tools such as Jenkins / Octopus etc) and Configuration Management (i.e. Chef, puppet, ansible) who is genuinely keen to develop a wider knowledge base in this cutting edge field. Our client operates a mixed technical environment consisting of a split between Windows / Linux, and there is currently an urgent need to hire additional Linux expertise to join the growing DevOps function. Currently, the company is moving into a Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and although knowledge of Google Cloud would be preferred, candidates with a decent understanding of AWS (Amazon Web Services) would certainly be considered. If you want to build up your DevOps experience, work with a hugely diverse and exciting technology led organisation and learn new skills, this is the ideal role for you. In addition to the technically broad landscape you will gain exposure to, the successful candidate can also expect to be put on the DevOps Foundation or DevOps Leadership training course within their first three months. The suitable candidate will be joining the company at a highly exciting time, and can expect to play a pivotal role in the migration of an existing data centre to a Google Cloud platform. It would therefore be highly advantageous to have worked on a similar project, or have exposure to the Google Cloud platform, although any cloud experience is also fine. Whilst this remains your initial key focus, the suitable DevOps Engineer will also be expected to hold the following responsibilities: - Solve problems relating to mission-critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions. Facilitate root cause analysis sessions and communicate the findings back. - Create and update process documentation, playbooks, and incident reports. - Work with other teams to build, test and roll out systems. - Continuous integration and delivery of SQL Server databases /.NET applications and any other new objects needed - Continuously improve system reliability, scalability and performance with improved tools and processes To be considered, applicants must be natural problem solvers with a genuine passion for working across a diverse and technically complex landscape, and, as such, will be required to have a range of skills, with CI / CD and Cloud technologies being the essentials! This opportunity will appeal to hungry DevOps Engineers looking for their next challenge, who are not afraid of working hard to achieve results. Our client fosters a culture of adopting the very latest and greatest technologies, meaning you will have the chance to work alongside some of the most highly sought after technical gurus in London! Apply now for an immediate consultation!
