Our client is a well-respected international environmental and engineering consultancy with expertise in mining, renewable energy, minerals, waste resource management, utilities, infrastructure and planning. The ground and environmental engineering service area currently operates predominately in the property and development Sector. Due to continued and sustained growth our client is looking to recruit a Principal / Associate Director (Ground and Environmental Engineering). The Role The central focus of this senior role is to develop the ground and environmental engineering service area in our client's Yorkshire office. The office is currently growing and there is a need for a senior person to join this team. This will include expanding their existing team and increasing the client base in the region. The role will also include making contributions to the wider ground and environmental engineering service area established in our client's offices across the UK. The Person The team works closely with the civil and structural engineering, archaeology, environmental and planning sections. Candidates should have experience in many or all of the above areas with an ability to understand and manage the inter-relationships between such technical areas of expertise. The requirements of this position include, but are not limited to the following areas: - Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge in winning work and building client relationships - Possess excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver results on time and to budget - Have excellent outward facing skills allowing them to build strong relationships with existing and new clients - The successful candidate should be able to coordinate all aspects of geo-environmental site investigation, desk studies, interpretation and reporting - A first degree and/or MSc in a related discipline and - A minimum of 8-10year's relevant experience - Chartered or actively working towards this status - SoBRA accreditation would be an advantage - Knowledge and experience of Contaminated Land Risk assessment software and methodologies - Knowledge of relevant UK contaminated land and relevant planning legislation and guidelines - A full driving licence and prepared to travel within UK when required This challenging and exciting opportunity offers an attractive basic salary (permanent) plus highly rewarding benefits package to the successful candidate.
