Due to further expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a customer facing Strategic IT advisor (what they call a virtual IT Director) to join a highly motivated and dynamic team in a long-standing and rapidly expanding IT support & services company based in Frome, Somerset. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with their key client stakeholders on a daily basis, evaluating IT infrastructure, identifying risk, researching and presenting IT solutions to bring business benefits and growth. You will essentially act as an outsourced IT Director, helping the heads of their client's business, so a desire and excitement to learn and understand a vast array of business types and needs is key. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established procedure and tool sets. - Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by their clients' upper management - Analyze the business requirements of all departments and overall businesses to determine their technology needs - Make efficient and cost-effective technological proposals for infrastructure and software platform adoption - Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency - Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems - Act as the senior account contact for their business and take full accountability for their service to the client - Develop, present, and control client IT budget - Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient solutions To qualify: - Proven experience as IT manager, 3rd line engineer or similar role (5+ years) - You will have proven problem solving and analytical skills - Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc. - Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications - Experience in controlling information technology budget - Strong communication skills and an ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms - Able to identify and interpret business needs and requirements - Excellent organizational and communication skills - BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus Additional Benefits: - Full Medical Insurance (after 2 years service) - Pension - Employment Disability Insurance. - Company Car - Laptop
