Academic Learning Mentor - Science Do you have a Biology, Chemistry or Physics degree and would be keen to spend a full year supporting pupils in a dynamic Science department? Are you looking for paid experience before you commit to teacher training in 2018? This thriving 11-16 secondary school in Manchester is hoping to recruit a talented and determined Science graduate into their team starting as soon as possible. Science Academic Learning Mentor - Degree required - Biology, Chemistry, Physics 2:1 or above - Paid £300 per week - Ideal experience for an aspiring Science Teacher - Secondary School in Manchester - Support pupils achieve their full potential - Role starting ASAP This experience would be invaluable for any 2018 application towards a PGCE or Schools Direct which could see you earn £300 - £325 per week. You would ideally have some previous experience working with children/pupils, but not necessarily in a school, and have at least received a 2:1 in your degree. You should be a patient person ideally suited to working in a school, assigned specifically to the Science department. An ideal candidate is an ambitious graduate who can empathise with their students and will be an enthusiastic addition to the school environment. This Science Academic Mentor role involves you working specifically within the schools supportive Science department. You will be receiving dedicated support from an 'Outstanding' Head of Department who will be there to support you from your very first day. You will be working to develop your abilities with the help of the school's training and development plan and providing the occasional cover lesson after a period of training.
