Economics Teacher A gender specific school require a strong Economic teachers to join them the week before the October half-term on a full-time, long-term basis with the view of joining them permanently in January! Are you a qualified (QTS or QTLS) Economics teacher who holds an Economic degree? Have you previously delivered the national curriculum to A-Level Economics students? If so, read on! - Economics Teacher required in Bexley - QTLS or QTS - A-Level Economics - MPS/UPS - £165 - £185 - October start! - Full-time, long-term to permanent - "Good" rated school - Gender specific 11 - 18 Economics Teacher - Job Description Knowledge and understanding: - understanding of the school's aims, priorities, targets and raising attainment plan - have a secure knowledge and understanding of specialist subject(s) - have a detailed knowledge of the relevant aspects of the curriculum and other statutory requirements - understand progression in specialist subject(s) - confidently address subject-related questions which students raise and know about students' common misconceptions and mistakes in their specialist subject(s) Planning and setting expectations: - identify clear learning objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught - set appropriate and challenging expectations for students' learning and motivation - set and monitor clear targets for students' learning, building on prior attainment - identify students who have special educational needs, and know where to get help in order to give positive and targeted support Teaching and managing student learning: - ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time - set high expectations for students' behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships, following the school systems - use teaching methods which keep students engaged, including stimulating students' intellectual curiosity, challenging students to promote a Growth Mind-set, effective questioning, clear presentation and good use of resources Assessment and evaluation: - assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment and school provided data on a regular basis for future teaching and target-setting - mark and monitor students' class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback, setting targets for students' progress as set out in the school policy - understand the demands expected of students in relation to the curriculum, ks4 and post-16 courses - record and report on student progress, following school policy Economics Teacher - Person Specification You must have or be: - QTS or QTLS - An Economics Degree - Passion for subject - Experience teaching A-level Economics in the UK - DBS (preferably on the update service) - Strong behaviour and management skills. - Excellent subject knowledge. - Good understanding of the national curriculum.
