ABOUT THE COMPANY Wanda Halcyon Television is a television production company that will be headquartered in Watford and Wimbledon in London. The company is a very well funded and has entered into a deal with a US studio in the development and production of television programmes for the US and Global market The company has become known for its innovative programmes and currently has a diverse programme product portfolio. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer Europe (CFO) will be a key member of the Executive Management Team and have primary day-to-day responsibility for all corporate affairs, investor relations, IT, legal, financial, accounting, tax, treasury, compliance and finance related business support activities. He/she will be expected to participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team. The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the productions in accordance with US & EU Law, local accounting standards, local statutory requirements and tax compliance, including other regulatory requirements within the Film & TV entertainment industry. The CFO will be a change champion, implementing operational best practices and will be accountable for driving budgetary operational efficiencies by identifying and implementing systems and process enhancements that create improved controls, service levels and operational improvements and will be a strong driver for the company's metrics and targets via developing a thorough understanding of the entertainment business. The CFO will act as a strong business partner to the CEO and will provide strategic and tactical financial leadership, as well as managerial oversight and guidance to the Senior Leadership Teams including the Managing Director (MD), on all matters relating to the financial strategy and operations of the projects. The CEO and his/her Finance teams will work closely with, and provide on-going fact-based support to all areas of the business, in particular, programme budgets. This executive will understand and anticipate the appropriate information, metrics and business intelligence required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan, lead, develop, organise, implement, direct and evaluate the organisation's finance functions and structure and take ownership for its overall performance. Plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance delivery; * Operate as a financial, strategic and commercial business partner to the CEO in the development of the company's plans and initiatives; * Further strengthen finance as a true 'business partner' across the projects, integrate finance across the organisation in the business and provide real value through the provision of quality, timely and accurate information that leads to insight and highlights issues and trends in order to assist executive management in the performance of their responsibilities; * Provide leadership and mentoring to the team including directing the review process, providing ongoing feedback and guidance to direct reports via individuals with professional and personal development plans and regular coaching; * Provide visible leadership to group initiatives such as the roll out of television programmes to ensure that targets / outcomes are met; * Develop, implement and enforce the policies and procedures of the organisation that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the programme output; * Provide technical financial advice and guidance to others within the Senior Leadership Teams; * Lead the continual improvement of the budget/forecast process through the education of film and television producers on financial issues impacting their budgets; * Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the programmes; e.g., evaluation of potential acquisitions, geographic expansion and/or the creation of new entities; * Take responsibility for other finance areas such as handling of bank relationships, treasury management, oversight of contracts, compliance and internal controls. DESIRED OUTCOMES * Establish an efficient and effective finance organisation with a Finance Team that is focused on business partnering rather than on compliance; * Realise a successful roll-out of programmes and budgets across all productions; * Realise a further roll-out of the shared services budgetary model for film and television programmes if appropriate; * Ensure effective integration of new acquisitions, be they film or television. CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal dynamic candidate has exceptional capabilities in leading, managing and developing the skills of an international, regionally focused finance section. He/she combines a strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to be a strong business partner for the CEO. The candidate should be able to flourish in a fast paced, multi-cultural, global operating environment. He/she has operated on an international level and is culturally versatile. The candidate is able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and is self-motivated with a high level of initiative. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who can collaborate and influence with key stakeholders to build alignment across the production company and interact confidently at the board level. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the UK Ideal experience 10+ years finance experience and strong technical expertise. * Sound track record of a progressive career in finance and business controlling positions of increasing seniority, ideally including direct exposure to media entertainment; * Knowledge of US and EU accounting systems. Business partnering * Strong business partnering experience, building excellent working relationships with commercial and operations teams to make sound business budgetary decisions on film and television productions. * Strong quantitative orientation, strategic ability for smart decision making International experience * An individual with a global mind-set and cultural sensitivity, ideally having worked in more than one country. * Comfortable working collaboratively, cross-functionally and internationally. Proven ability to be effective within an international matrix and dynamic organization. * Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Mandarin would be advantageous but not essential University degree * A Bachelor/Masters degree coupled with a post qualification degree such as Qualified Accountant or an equivalent.
