An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Engineer to join this well established and growing IT Company based between Chesterfield and Sheffield. Attractive working conditions are provided in their new build, air conditioned offices. Staff kitchen and separate break-out area provide a pleasant space for lunch/socialising. There is also a staff shower room, for anyone cycling to work, or arriving straight from the gym! Our client provides IT Solutions to a varied customer base across the UK and their support team are a key part of the company's commitment to delivering highly professional and responsive services to their clients. Their multi-disciplinary Helpdesk team provides support on their vertical market applications for Business Centres and Tree Management as well as supporting their Hosted Services and on-premise server and desktop installations across the UK and mainland Europe. Candidate Requirements: - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems as well as Microsoft Office applications - Knowledge and practical experience of TCP/IP networking including the configuration of firewalls, routers and switches - Knowledge and experience of VoIP Telephony will be advantageous - An understanding of software architecture and database applications - Ability to investigate and troubleshoot software problems The successful candidate will have a proactive attitude and an investigative mind, be enthusiastic and confident, have a desire to provide exceptionally high levels of customer service and have excellent time and workload management skills. The successful candidate will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills which are essential for this customer facing role. The right candidate will attract a salary of 20K to 30K dependent upon qualifications and experience. Hours of work will generally be an 8 hour day falling between the hours of 8am to 6pm with a 45 minute paid lunch break. Their helpdesk engineers work on overlapping shifts to cover the normal Helpdesk operating hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional out-of-hours work is a requirement. A full driving licence is desirable because customer site visits are a feature of the role. This demanding but rewarding role offers the successful candidate excellent career prospects.
