This leading global industrial engineering and manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to design and evaluate materials and equipment for a variety of bespoke customer projects and lead the build of the end product in line with Production. Commutable from: Birmingham, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Alcester, Stratford on Avon, Kidderminster, Coventry Salary: £ 38,000 - £ 48,000 p.a. + Benefits Suitable for: Senior Project Engineer, Programme Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Project Lead, R&D Engineer, Design Engineer, Development Engineer The Role Working as a key part of the Engineering Team and reporting directly to the Project Engineering Manager, you will be involved in the following key tasks; Design product systems/schemes to suit customer's requirements. Interpret order requirements to co-ordinate assignments and establish accountabilities for Quotes, Sales, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production, Shipping, Service and market team support staff as appropriate during the planning meetings. Review customer purchase order amendments and/or additions and discusses with appropriate department. Produce all technical drawings required for contracts/ manufacture in support of the design engineers. Review and advise on electrical panels and wiring. Work with Production to revise assembly and parts lists drawings to correspond to changes made to detail drawings and bills of materials. Handle customer requests for assistance or complaints and initiates response and/or takes corrective action as required within the scope of the project. Liaise with customers and suppliers on specific projects including technical meetings, as required. Monitor the progress of project equipment through design and build process and helps resolve any issues impacting progress. Monitor project costs and/or adjustments, paying attention to the original margins set and advising management when deviations occur. Create test procedures for projects and oversees factory acceptance tests. Co-ordinates and maintains all engineering documents and design change information at the facility. The Person With a minimum of a HNC in Mechanical Engineering of similar and a background in mechanical design and development / project engineering, you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience; Experience within a complex manufacturing environment and any prior exposure to bespoke customer projects would be highly sought after. Project management experience and prior ability to liaise with customers and suppliers. Knowledge of SAP / ERP based project systems. Knowledge of 3D CAD, (Solidworks, CATIA or Pro-Engineer) and 2D Autocad and able to read and interpret drawings and make changes where required. Any experience in electrical systems and controls or large cast products would also be advantageous but not essential. The ability to communicate at all levels and gain buy in from colleagues and customers / suppliers will be key to delivering this role.
