Would you like to gain paid school based experienced as a SEN Learning Mentor, before going onto further training in Teaching or the field of Psychology? This is a rare opportunity to gain experience working as an SEN Learning Mentor - there are at least 2 positions available, in both a popular Secondary and its feeder Primary school, depending on your preferred age group. School experience is not essential, as long as you have worked with SEN previously and feel you have transferable skills. This role requires good communication skills and a resilient personality! You must be excited about working closely with children to enhance their learning experience. In this exciting role you will be an integral part of the schools SEN team supporting the Inclusion & Learning Manager. You will support learners who have specific learning and behaviour plans, and you will help them achieve their goals on a 1:1 or small group basis. You will be key to the schools intervention strategy to ensure the best possible learning outcomes. There are roles available in both the Primary (ages 4-11), and Secondary schools (ages 11-18), depending where your experience lies. This modern Leeds complex of a Primary and Secondary school plays a key role in the community and has excellent links to public transport. The Head Teacher and SENCO have a proven track record of developing ambitious graduates to prepare them for ongoing teacher training or a career in Educational Psychology.
