merchandising, gaming, eCommerce Overview The Senior Vice President of Merchandising is a key role, responsible for all Green Man Gaming store fronts. Reporting directly into the Executive Vice President of Performance Marketing, but with significant exposure to senior management including the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity for a focused, determined individual to join one of the most successful eCommerce companies in the Games Industry. Role responsibilities Store fronts: Responsible for all the merchandising (layout, content and performance) of customer facing Green Man Gaming store fronts, including: - Green Man Gaming desktop website. - Mobile web adaptive website. - Mobile app store front. - Third party hosted websites (Lenovo Entertainment Hub). Commercial execution: Define and deliver the merchandising strategy for the business trading initiatives, including: - Commercial, on-site execution including the management and implementation of commercial mechanics including vouchers, timed deal mechanics and sales. - Work closely with the marketing team, Chief Commercial Officer and senior buying managers to develop/execute commercial storefront opportunities. - In conjunction with the buyers, manage the commercial planners to deliver a cohesive range on the site. - Continually refine/improve customer journey and commercial on-site messaging. - Drive and adhere to key Green Man Gaming merchandising principles. Communication and liaison: This is a focal role touching multiple departments - Liaise with the trading and marketing teams to deliver driving successful marketing campaigns. - Work closely with trading, marketing and customer experience departments to deliver commercial objectives effectively and efficiently. - Work with the territory marketing executives to ensure localised websites from our multi-language consumer base receive an excellent customer experience and conversion. - Work with the performance marketing team to ensure that SEO and SEM implications of merchandising opportunities are maximised. Analysis and key performance metrics: Supported by an analyst and the Business Intelligence team improve: - Click through rates from commercial landing pages. - Economic conversion. - Customer characteristics including bounce rate, exit pages, time on site. - Regularly review competitor best practice and performance benchmarking. - Improving PDP page functionality, info accuracy and messaging. - Recommend/champion UX and customer experience improvements. Core skills This role requires varied skills including a commercially imaginative/creative approach to merchandising, a deeply analytical mindset combined with a commercial drive underpinned by a desire to succeed. Skill sets include: Leadership is key as this role as it will require the direct management, motivation and development of talented creative and highly commercial driven teams, including: - Content team (5 team members). - Design/creative team (6 team members). - The management of a Business Intelligence conversion and website performance analyst. Commercial - Strong commercial awareness and previous experience, preferably within the gaming and / or entertainment industry. - Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving dynamic eCommerce environment. Results orientated - Proven track record of delivering results to targets as an individual and within a team. Communication - Confidence to influence and engage at all levels. - Takes advantage of every opportunity to communicate relevant information and is always approachable and visible to the team. - An effective communicator, presenter, and team player. General skills - Addresses difficult issues in an open and constructive way. - Ability to drive change.
