IT SUPPORT / INCIDENT ANALYST / IT OPERATIONS Are you looking for a career in IT Support? Are you in an IT Support, Service Desk, Help Desk or Operations role and looking for a step up? We have an exciting vacancy for a dedicated, hard working candidate to join a fast paced IT Operations team as an IT Support / Incident Analyst. IT Operations supports the entire business by making sure services are always available. The team oversees the company's data networks, server estate, digital feeds and end-users. If something does go wrong, IT Operations makes sure it gets fixed quickly and doesn't happen again. ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES: The team is responsible for: - Actively ensuring availability of the company's technical services by monitoring the health of the company's networks, server estate and digital feeds. - Managing incoming work on a service-level based queueing system. - Investigating faults and implementing technical fixes. - Escalating to third-line teams and working with them to resolve incidents. - Determining when an incident is going to impact the business and making sure they are aware. - Bringing in technical work from other technical teams (like Networks and Dev/Ops) into Ops. - Keeping operational technical documentation up-to- date. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - You're a strong communicator and have the right attitude. You'll need a calm manner and you can keep a cool head when things heat up. You'll be dealing with people about to miss their deadlines and you'll be surrounded by some of the most technical people you can possibly imagine. You'll be able to influence and persuade them. - You're dependable and a team player. IT Operations is a small team and there's a lot riding on it. Everyone's going to be banking on you. - You want a technical career. This is a step-up from working on a Service Desk. We have specific teams to pick up desktop support, so you'll primarily be working on servers. You'll get exposure to a huge variation in technologies If you want to progress in IT, this is where you'll do it. - You want to learn new skills. Often. You're going to be working closely with Networks, Dev/Ops and Infrastructure engineers. You'll deal with developers. There'll be times when you can barely follow what they are talking about. We do run Windows but it's nearly all Unix-based here, so you need get comfortable working on a command-line and be willing to become brilliant at it. - You'll be open to learning new things. - You're an analyst. You won't drop something because it's working again - you're thinking about why it broke, what needs to happen to stop it from happening again, and how to learn lessons for next time. LOCATION: Howden. DN14. Commutable from Howden, Goole, Hull, Selby, Scunthorpe, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract.
