A new job opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join a highly successful and growing development house in central Bath as a Technical Lead on a permanent basis. The company is continuing to grow its market share and is therefore adding to their UK development team to support the demand from clients and the development of new products. The position offers excellent scope for progression and to become a key player in the management team.

Your new role
As Senior Java Developer and Technical Lead you'll be working as part of a small but growing team of Front End, Node and Java Developers on the company's core products. You'll take ownership for the web platforms and lead a team on the Java stack development for the business, with several mid-senior developers reporting directly to you. As well as looking to continuously improve and add to the existing applications the business is keen to explore additional products to bring to market. You will liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertake development of multiple products through the full software lifecycle. You'll be a natural problem solver, and be encouraged to share ideas, think innovatively, working with your colleagues in a collaborative environment designing cutting edge features in existing and new applications. You'll keep a keen eye on specifications and compliance requirements. You'll also be focused on delivery of a customer focused approach to give the best user experience in a hugely competitive market.

What you'll need to succeed
You are a highly skilled and passionate Senior Java Developer/Technical Lead and will have hands on commercial experience of leading a technical team, using Java and JavaEE. You'll have prior experience of working on multiple high performing and scaleable web applications, in an Agile environment. You will have excellent understanding and practical experience of development best practice and key software engineering principles. You are technically very capable, really focused on quality coding and always striving to work to your best ability and taking great pride in your work. Your communications and interpersonal skills are excellent, being comfortable communicating at all levels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are always interested in how development can be done better, learning new skills and in new technology, keeping yourself up to date with advances, new languages and concepts
