An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Rail Freight Engineering Technician at one of the busiest inland intermodal container terminals in the UK. As an Engineering Technician you will be rewarded with potential earnings of £35k - £40k and the opportunity to join our Final Salary Pension Scheme. Your Rail Freight Engineering Technician Role: Your main duties will include, but are not limited to: - Carry out all designated engineering activities, to ensure that business requirements and operational availability of assets are fully maximised in cooperation with other Freightliner departments. - Adhere and fully comply with all relevant company safety standards, rules and regulations. - Carry out all duties in accordance with Freightliner Group safety management systems and vehicle and/or equipment maintenance instructions and standards. - Assist with the keeping of records of maintenance and defect / repair information and the parts used to ensure company records are kept up to date in accordance with legislative requirements and company instructions. - Carry out the company's programme of engineering examinations, maintenance events, fault finding, diagnostic checking and repairs of company assets in accordance with company maintenance instructions and procedures. - Ensure the safekeeping of own tools and those owned by the Company. Your Rail Freight Engineering Technician Skills - Working on your own initiative without direct supervision - High level of knowledge of electrical engineering systems - Good knowledge of mechanical engineering systems - Able to organise and carry out a daily programme of examinations and maintenance checks - Be competent in assessing asset condition - Capable of carrying out repairs and maintenance - Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics - Understanding of Health and Safety at Work legislation - Good understanding of Microsoft Packages - A flexible approach to work - Good leadership and motivational skills Your Benefits - Potential earnings of £35,000 - £40,000 - Opportunity to join the company's Final Salary Pension Scheme - 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays - Career Progression Training, where necessary, will be provided for the right Rail Freight Engineering Technician candidate who is willing to demonstrate a flexible approach and a high standard of workmanship, in a developing environment that is designed to meet our customer's expectations.
