FINANCE MANAGER - 6 Month FTC

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and competent Finance Manager to join an SME organisation who continues to grow on a 6 month fixed term contract.


The role will consist of working with the current incumbent to hand over and then to carefully take over and take forward the position for a minimum of 6 months.

The role works directly with the MD and is heavily involved in the day-to-day financial matters, as well as global projects.

THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the company finances, as well as timely and accurate management reporting.

You will be responsible for the management of the Finance Department and one member of staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Day to Day Management of Company Finances
-Ensure accurate and timely processing all supplier and customer invoices/credit notes
-Payment of all suppliers in a timely manner with notifications sent
-Maximise creditor balance without disrupting supply of goods
-Maintain and monitor customer credit limits including authorisation within agreed limits Monitor and chase outstanding debts from customers
-Run the company payroll including making payments and year end processing
-Daily cash flow forecasting
-Ensure import/export documentation and duty payments are maintained
-Maintain cashbooks and reconciliations
-General Ledger; ensure statutory payments (e.g. PAYE/NI/Corp Tax/VAT) are up to date
-Administration of company insurance
-Maintain fixed asset register and reconcile to General Ledger
-Administration of credit card payment and day to day banking, including Invoice Discounting

Management Reporting
-VAT/Intrastat/EC Sales Lists
-Publish management accounts
-Annual return filing
-Monthly reconciliations of key control account
-Ensure statutory books are maintained

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
-Either qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or qualified by experience
-Must have worked in an SME and be happy to compete a round finance position
-Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to lead from the front

SALARY & BENEFITS
An annual salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus company benefits
