Due to continued growth a position has been created within our apprenticeship programme. If you are looking to commence a career within the Fire and Security industry with a genuine pathway of progression then this may well be the position for you. Upon joining Clymac the successful candidate will commence a training program which will be delivered in both the classroom and externally, during this period you will learn about the theory of fire systems in conjunction with hands on training on existing fire installations. During the apprenticeship you will accompany established maintenance engineers on site and assist on large two man sites gaining valuable site experience. You will be required to attend college either 1 day a week or a number of 1 week at a time "block release" depending on the venue. This will be over an 12-15 month period where you will complete acoursein "Knowledge of Electronic Security and Emergency Systems" focusing on the Fire Detection Systems pathway along with core electrical principles theory. On completion of the apprenticeship as a trainee maintenance engineer youwill then be trained on a variety of other life safety systems which include; Emergency Lighting, Disabled Refuge, Nurse Call and Portable extinguishers. Where required some of our engineers are also selected to become proficient within the security element of our business which will involve carrying out maintenance on Intruder, Access Control and also CCTV, again all training will be given. We offer a genuine pathway for employees that wish to develop into our more technical roles, we look to our maintenance engineers to become our next service engineers (our service engineers carry out basic fault finding) and we look to service engineers to become our on demand engineers (our on demand engineers carry out minor/major faults and commissioning). 80% of our on demand team have progressed through the business from either an apprentice or maintenance engineer. The ideal candidate will be located in close proximity to the M25, ideally in the East or West. You should have a customer orientated approach, demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised and be able to plan your own time. You should also possess good organizational skills, and preferably but not essential hold a recognized electrical/electronic qualification. Working hours are 8am to 5pm (some flexibility will be required with start/finish times), you will work from your home address (all travel will be paid) - Overtime will be paid when working outside of your core hours. You will also be required to join the callout rota which is currently 1 week on call every 10 weeks. You are required to be in possession of a full clean driving license and have no criminal convictions, a criminal record background check will be undertaken upon commencement of employment.
