Our current client portfolio includes the Department of Transport, Transport for Scotland, the Highways Agency, Transport for London, Borough Councils, Civil Engineering Contractors and International Governments, for whom we undertake the planning, design and supervision of civil engineering and transport solutions to exceed our client's requirements. Requirements: We are seeking to locate a career minded Inspection / Maintenance Engineer who has gained proven work experience in the inspection and maintenance of highway structures. To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials: Minimum Academic Qualifications: * You will hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and ideally be a Chartered / Incorporated Civil Engineer or nearing Chartered / Incorporated status Essential Experience: * Experience in maintenance of all types of highway structures. Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Specification for Highway Works. * Inspection experience of all types of highway structures. Knowledge of BD63 and the Manual for Maintenance of Highway Structures. * Site supervision experience of maintenance and refurbishment works to highway structures using the ICE and NCE forms of contract. * Project Management experience. * Client facing experience. Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting to the Technical Director, you will provide technical support into assigned projects ensuring successful delivery of technically challenging inspection and maintenance schemes, predominately in London but with increasing emphasis on other geographies. You will be responsible for successfully completing assigned projects within budget and deadlines and provide technical guidance to other members of the team, ensuring compliance with Arcadis and national standards. Your role will also encompass the control, coordination and supervision of Junior Engineers and Technicians ensuring that their work is in line with our guidelines and project requirements. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: * Ensuring that the records and or database is updated to meet project requirements. * Ensuring the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other standards dictated by the nature of the project * Liaising with the Project Director / Manager and the client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project * Assisting in the resolution of complex technical issues * Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design * Working to make sure that the engineering design component of the project comes within budget and deadline * Mentoring other members of the engineering team in their development * Developing and maintaining professional relationships with Project Managers, assisting with team development * Being familiar with and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team * Document management, including drawing registers Remuneration & Benefits At Arcadis we believe in rewarding our staff for their commitment and endeavours and we have designed a flexible benefits package that we feel will suit all of our team.
