.NET Web Developer Based in Fareham, Hampshire - .NET Developer for DBT a leading Internet and Software Development Company. - Part of Reed Business Information, a FTSE100 RELX Group Business - Salary £32-£40k + generous benefits, as well as a friendly, professional environment in our attractive and well-appointed offices in Fareham, Hampshire Role Description The role will focus on building new, bespoke web-based systems using the latest technologies mentioned below, as well as maintaining legacy systems. You will be the lead developer in some scenarios, taking full responsibility for the project and for the output of the development team you are working with. You will be required to adhere to the methodologies employed by the Senior Architects here at DBT; however, whilst it is expected that you follow their lead, DBT always encourages developers to show initiative and to express themselves as often as possible. Core Skills Required: ASP.NET, MVC, C#, Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL Server, HTML / CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Visual Studio, Windows Server, IIS. Additional skills (Nice to have): Telerik Kendo UI, Mobile development (IOS / Android), Web Services, SQL Server Reporting Services (or other reporting systems), AngularJS / REACT, Amazon Web Service experience. Required Experience: - Ideally 2-4 years minimum commercial experience of web-based development - Commercial awareness and ability to communicate effectively - Management and development of robust database-centric web & stand alone applications using Microsoft technologies - Experience working in Agile / Scrum environment - Good understanding of front-end technologies - CSS / HTML / Javascript Libraries and of responsive design, web standards and cross browser compatibility Interviewing Interviewing will likely be kept to two phases. The first phase is a fairly brief, introductory interview (approx 45 - 60 mins) where we will... - Discuss DBT's history and purpose in a bit more detail - Get an overview of the candidates ability and experience - Discuss the available position in more detail - Allow the candidate to ask questions It would be extremely useful, and beneficial to their application, if the candidate is able to demonstrate URLs or be able to provide screenshots or diagrams (or any relevant material) of some of the more important or advanced systems that they have worked on. If selected for a second interview, the candidate will meet some of the senior architects, and after some discussion will be asked to complete a test. The second interview and test should take approximately 2 - 3 hours.
