Job Description – Sales and Marketing Manager

Support on the Spot provide a simplistic yet secure approach to IT services, striving to maintain the highest standards in service. Backed by both ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 accreditations and ITIL alignment.

With a long-standing client base, we are entrusted with being a "one-stop shop" for any and all IT related requirements.

We are now looking to expand and require a dedicated IT Sales and Marketing Manager.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, persuasive with their words and rise to competition: -

Role Summary:

Your role is to provide a first-class service in order to push the sales of our products and services. You will make necessary phone calls and meetings to generate sales. You will be responsible for meeting sales targets through effective planning and budgeting.

Key responsibilities/expectations:

The role requires significant interaction with clients, which may be face-to-face or over the telephone. Tasks are varied and include:-

·Understanding customers' diverse, detailed business needs and apply product knowledge to meet those needs

·Schedules appointments and meetings as necessary with new and existing customers

·Identifying and developing new business through networking and courtesy and follow-up calls

·Preparing and delivering customer presentations and demonstrations

·Marketing and promoting a portfolio of products and attending industry events

·Developing effective sales plans using sales methodology

·Meeting sales targets set by managers and contributing to team targets

·Develop a sales strategy to achieve organizational sales goals and revenues

·Networking with existing customers in order to maintain links and promote additional products and upgrades

·Responding to tender documents, writing proposals, reports and supporting literature

·Researches client base to find new types of customers and sell to them accordingly

·Creates a plan for gaining customers and then retaining them

·Sets up booths at trade shows and industry conventions and demonstrates the quality or uses of a product

·Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic annual, quarterly and monthly forecasts to the management team

·Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

·Formulate sales policies and procedures

·Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence

·Any other reasonable request deemed necessary by directors or managing director

Knowledge and Skills required:

·Relevant industry experience

·A good level of technical understanding with enthusiasm for new technology and it’s commercial uses

·Experience with relevant software applications

·Virtualization Fundamentals

·Microsoft Packages

·Basic Networking

·Articulate and confident presentation skills and a professional telephone manner

·Self-motivation and a competitive, results driven attitude

·Stamina, resilience and the ability to work well under pressure

·Excellent time management skills and the ability to priorities your workload

·Persuasive and influential verbal communication skills

·A strong team spirit

·Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

·Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

·A good eye for figures, negotiation skills and general business acumen

·A full, clean driving licence as the role includes regular travel to clients’ premises


  • Sales and Marketing Manager – up to £30k (depending on experience)
plus performance related bonus

A company car (or car allowance) may be provided after successful completion of probation.

Working Hours:

Working hours are typically 9am – 5.30pm but extra hours where approaching deadlines require them. You might be required to work longer days to prepare for social evenings and conferences, where you will network with potential customers.
