Technical Architect - 6 months - £545/day LTD - Skipton House, London.


Security Clearance: BPSS + DS*

Take responsibility for managing and updating data models, data architecture, data dictionaries, configuration and reference data catalogues. Work with business leads to identify and document data and reporting requirements. Design and maintain data models and manage data integration, performing data quality analysis and profiling tasks. Track business requirements and ensure that these can be matched from a data perspective. Take ownership of data related design decisions throughout the delivery process, including selection of tools to support data architecture activities. Ensure that data-specific project activities align technically and that the architecture is consistent from a data perspective. Ensure compliance with data related standards and key architectural principles. Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver complex IT projects to tight deadlines.

Required - Degree or higher in Computer Science's or development of large systems - Certified in one or more architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) or equivalent.

*Experience of working with registries, directories, or reference data services - preferably in the health domain.
*Experience of loosely-coupled system integration / interoperability between different third-party systems.
*Software architectural design and system implementation experience in one or more health domains (e.g. urgent & emergency care, unscheduled care, and primary care).
*High level technical understanding of NHS Digital IT systems, those offered by third party suppliers, and the current systems interoperate landscape within the NHS.
*Experience of working with health interoperability standards e.g. HL7, IHE, NHS National Systems.
*Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to stakeholders with different focuses (e.g. business / technical / security / clinical)
*Demonstrable experience of working closely with business stakeholders and third party suppliers to understand requirements and collectively deliver the best technical solution in terms of cost, performance, resilience, design approach and alignment with standards.
*Experienced in the delivery of complex IT solutions through the full life cycle from initial inception to production.
*Good understanding of messaging protocols and interoperability standards, in particular those with relevance to the health domain.
*Broad understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they can be harnessed to meet the programmes business requirements.
*Evidence of recent software delivery against a complex set of requirements and / or in a complex environment
*A clear understanding and appreciation for benefits / dis-benefits of working publicly and openly, and taking an open source approach
*Experience: Previous architectural and development experience in IT health domain - preferably focused on registries, data directories / reference data services, and open publishing of data via APIs / datasets etc.
*Excellent communication with a wide range of business and clinical stakeholders, technical domain experts, and end-users.
*Broad range of experience in technical solution design and delivery, and evidence of previous successful project delivery.
*Broad spectrum understanding of current and emerging technologies and their capabilities, and a demonstrably pragmatic approach to balancing innovation, sustainability, and design.
