Audit Senior in a well established and sizeable Audit firm based in the thriving city of Southampton. Qualified Accountant ACA, CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent with an excellent starting basic salary of c£39-44K + full benefits package including paid overtime, discretionary bonus giving potential remuneration of c£41-46K+

Background:

An excellent role for someone with audit experience and current experience of clients within Southampton, Portsmouth and the surrounds who wants to break into a big name and gain unrivalled experience or someone keen to relocate to this well-performing city.  You may be eligible to work in the UK in full-time, paid permanent employment but will be currently either working in audit locally or elsewhere in the UK and keen to work in the Southampton regiomn & surrounds.  There is top quality work and client exposure on offer in the heart of this hugely popular location.  Offices of some major names within business sectors such as retail, manuacturing, FMCG, construction and IT offering some of the highest levels of experience working with recognised names.  Working on a great client base is part of this excellent opportunity with a big firm with further opportunities to transfer into other areas of the firm or secondments into in-house commercial finance roles within some selected clients.

About the Role

 You will be based in the heart of the Southampton regional economy with easy access to clients, getting exposure to superb blue chip multinationals and superb UK companies.   As Audit Senior / Assistant Manager you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out risk based audits primarily under UK GAAP and IAS (full training will be given where necessary in these areas).

Your Key accountabilities as Audit senior / Assistant manager will be

- Leading a team of part-qualified accountants

- Planning and preparation of client audits

 - Managing the audit on-site on a daily basis including review of work carried out by other team members              

In addition, you may gain secondments to work in some of these blue chip, top tier clients

Requirements:

To be considered for the position of Audit senior / Assistant manager you will be:

- Recently qualified with an internationally recognised accountancy qualification including ACA, CA, ACCA, CPA Qualified Accountant - or 2017 finalist

- Currently working as an Audit Senior in accountancy practice and with regular audit experience which will account for c80%+ of your work

Experience /- exposure to some of the client sectors is ideal but not essential as full training in the sectors will be given where necessary

- IAS experience is welcome but not essential                           

- Strong interpersonal and team skills

You will be qualified or awaiting results and looking to gain specific experience to direct your career in a particular direction, or you may want a Big name on your CV whilst developing your client exposure and technical knowledge prior to deciding your ultimate aim.  You will be working either in a medium-sized or smaller-sized practices including ones consisting of maybe 4-6 partners (where you are completing significant levels of audits as part of your daily role)  as this firm is seriously interested to meet talent from a range of different-sized firms as it has proved a successful venture previously.  This is a real opportunity that is worth serious consideration for your own career development and direction
