A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well established, award winning company as a Financial Accountant in the Manchester city centre.

Role purpose:

Responsible for the financial and statutory reporting of the company.


Monthly Reporting:

• Responsible for ensuring the Assistant Accountant completes all banking and intercompany trading & loan accounts are reconciled and represented accurately in the ledger each month within set deadlines.
• Responsible for ensuring the Assistant Accountant completes all treasury accruals and prepayments within set deadlines.
• Reporting of treasury & central cost centre P&Ls to budget holders and providing all necessary analysis.
• Work with the Treasury department to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Co-ordinate monthly reporting, including but not limited to; monthly management accounts, monthly cash flow forecast, capex spend, non-financial reporting, internal control compliance.

Statutory & other reporting:

• Responsible for the timely production of all tax computations and submissions, including but not limited to; corporation tax, VAT, withholding tax.
• Ensure all submissions and calculations are in compliance with tax & HMRC regulations.
• Responsible for ensuring balance sheet compliance with IFRS by:
Reviewing all four ledger balance sheet reconciliations completed by the finance team and report to the Financial Manager. Co-ordinate any required investigations.
Review of quarterly balance sheet analytical reviews.
• Co-ordination of the annual ICS departmental controls and processes, including all operational and relevant controls documentation and co-ordination of internal audit for all teams in the department.
• Responsible for the production of year end deliverables including preparation of financial statements, reporting pack and all audit papers.
• Co-ordinate all internal and external audits, ensuring all teams are in compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Qualified CCAB qualification preferred, part qualified may also be considered dependant on experience.
• Technical experience in financial ledger accounting and financial reporting is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Access skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
• Confident and able to effectively communicate with all levels, including senior management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of travel industry would be advantageous.
