Our nursery is looking for a dynamic Nursery Manager with experience and strong leadership skills. The role involves working effectively with a team in a large team and some other management team. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate good effective organisational skills and excellent people management skills.

You will be passionate with working with children and have positive attitude to role model behaviours including a strong ability to lead and motivate teams.

Key Roles

  • Responsible for keeping children, staff and visitors in the centre safe at all times.
  • You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the nursery provision on a daily basis with the ability to interpret and model the company vision.
  • Deploying staff effectively to maintain the correct staff ratios in cascading effectively to all employees changes to documents/procedures as directed by the Company
  • Supporting and working in partnership with the company's sister nurseries in the local area.
  • To monitor routines and practices in the nursery and ensure all staff follows the policies and procedures of MTN.
  • To carry out administrative duties as instructed by the director and have good partnership with parents.
  • To manage small projects and bring in new business

  • Developing the nursery team.
  • Managing a budget.
  • Maintaining and monitoring numbers of filled and unfilled children places
  • Maintaining staff and child records and maintaining nursery resources and making sure that equipment such as furniture and toys, is in good condition and regularly
  • Running the nursery in line with the environmental, health and safety and fire regulations.
  • You will work closely with the owners of the nursery to make sure that the service offered meets Ofsted and early years foundation stage standard.
Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification (e.g. Pre-school Learning Alliance Diploma in Pre-school Practice , NVQ 3, or equivalent). Although higher qualifications are desirable.
  • Post-qualification experience in running or helping to run a similar service.
  • A sound understanding of child development and children needs with an ability to plan and implement an early years age/stage appropriate curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. This includes the ability to establish rapport and credibility with parents and the ability to produce clear, concise and well-written reports, e.g. for disciplinary, business plans for recruitment purposes etc.
  • Experience of effective staff management and objective setting, performance management (one-ones, appraisals, feedback).
  • Experience of co-ordinating curriculum planning for a childcare and early education setting.
  • Pro-active, enthusiastic and self motivated.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Emotionally resilient and able to handle competing demands.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in approach to managing all issues.
  • The ability to establish rapport and credibility with parents, visitors, multi agencies and local authority and Ofsted
Excellent salary depending on qualifications and experience.
