Skyscanner is the world’s travel search engine with ambitions to be everybody's personal travel assistant. As a Software Engineer, we want to employ your problem solving capabilities. Solving complex scalability challenges, proposing new design and systems solutions and all the while, instigating and promoting best engineering practices. We’re looking for exceptional engineers who can make difficult decisions and take ownership of a problem from end to end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Having enthusiasm for engineering and emerging technologies
  • Creating innovative, efficient, and scalable server-based solutions
  • Writing code for individual programs according to specifications
  • Examining existing software and determines requirements for new/modified systems in the light of business needs
  • Working in Java, Python, Perl, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5
  • Validating quality code that can be rapidly deployed
  • Planning and maintains database structures, developing user interfaces and undertaking feasibility studies to design software solutions
  • Continuous testing and evaluating of the software
  • Communicating effectively and openly within the team
  • Grasping the big picture
  • Having big thoughts and the courage to voice them
  • Qualifications

    In addition to being able to carry out the above responsibilities, we're looking for someone comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing environment with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
