Totum are delighted to be working on an opportunity to join one of the City's leading law firms in a strategic, commercial role as a Head of Pricing. Managing a growing team and having a direct influence on the development of the firm's pricing function and strategy, this role would suit someone who enjoys having a direct impact on the top level decisions made in the pricing area as well as getting involved in the detail. The finance function at this firm is currently being restructured and expanded, part of this growth including the creation this central pricing team. The role of the team will be to propose pricing structures that align client and the firm's needs; to advise partners on all pricing strategies, including guidance as to location of resources to use, secondments, volume discounts and other services; and to help increase the profitability of the work the fee earner teams do. The team members would be expected to interact directly with clients, to attend pitches and pricing or reporting discussions.

The Head of Pricing will be tasked with the designing and implementing a pricing process; proposing pricing structures and modelling fee proposals; gaining the trust of the partners, working effectively with the Client relationship partners and Business Development team and understanding the clients' needs and how best to satisfy them. The role requires someone to assess and constructively critique fee proposals, test the sensitivity of scenarios around alternative pricing arrangements, coach and train the partnership on pricing strategies and help to design and manage the process around reporting to clients. Working with the PMS vendor functional experts, the Head of Pricing will look at ways to use the systems to help pricing and to drive behaviours to assist increasing revenue and also develop a system to summarise agreed fee arrangements in a way that will ensure that we comply with the agreements. Follow up meetings and debriefing fee earning teams post agreement to see if objectives are being achieve will also be an important part of the responsibilities.

The role requires someone with a proven track record of advising and influencing senior executives, significant experience of working within a service industry (law or consultancy preferable) and at least 5 years' experience of working in a pricing team. Previous management experience is highly desirable.
