THE POSITION

§
A highly customer orientated role that provides continuous success in launches of innovative new products through a creative blue sky approach to development and market leaders in recipe creation.

§Maintaining the position of centre of excellence through innovation, quality and value for money based on sound category management principle which enables continual growth and category success.

§A key function of the role is to be an integral part of the site team and to influence the direction of our categories and to ensure that we continue to maintain quality standards, service level and deliver our profit targets.

§Liaising and communicating with all internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met and schedules achieved.

·Lead contact for the chosen categories with the customer and the interface between customer and business

§Coordinate and facilitate all meetings with the customer for relevant categories

§Panel and support costing process with Site Development Manager.

§Working closely with the customer and the Commercial Controller to drive forward sales and achieve budgeted targets.

§Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed KPI’s

§Ensure that a robust commercial forecast is maintained to reflect current trading and conditions

§Plan/carry out/support marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions.

§Carry out and produce all reporting requirements, maintaining and updating the necessary spreadsheets and databases within the required timescales

§Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information

Essential

§FMCG background (ideally short shelf life experience)

§Capable of strategic development with the customer

§Excellent communicator and influencer, with ability to build strong and trusting relationships

§Quality focused and commercially minded

§Excellent presentation skills

§Ability to work on own initiative, is flexible, positive and confident

§Strong IT skills – Word, Excel, Power Point and Access database.

§Numerical and focussed on detail

§Previous experience in a category / commercial environment

§A strong passion for food

§Time management/Multi tasking skills

Desirable

§Previous experience in food industry

§Previous experience of working within a role for a major retailer or within a food manufacturing environment
