Due to an increased intake of pupils, this secondary school are seeking a Science Teacher to start immediately
Your new company
This secondary school is based on the outskirts of Wigan and due to an increased intake in pupils this academic year, the school are keen to appoint a Science Teacher to join their Science department. The school has experienced significant growth over recent years and in order for the school to remain successful, it is important the Senior Leadership Team appoint the right staff.
Your new role
Joining the Science department early October, you will be responsible for teaching the subject across KS3 and KS4, to pupils of varying abilities in classes of between 25 and 30. Starting early October, you will be employed on a long term contract and will therefore be required to fully immerse yourself into school life, attending parents evenings and other school functions.
Joining a successful Science department, you will work alongside 7 fellow Science Teachers, of which some are outstanding and you will therefore learn from others. You will plan and prepare your lessons, having access to a large volume of resources within the department and you will then deliver lessons ensuring all pupils are progressing well within the classroom. You will also then be required to complete the subsequent marking and assessment of pupils work.
Furthermore, although this role is initially a 2 term contract, it is likely that this could become permanent for the right candidate.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status and have experience teaching Science to KS4, ideally specialising in 1 particular area of Science. You must be immediately available, as well as able to commit to a 2 term contract, ideally seeking a permanent role in the long term.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid to scale from day one of the assignment and will learn from others within this successful department, therefore allowing you to further develop your own teaching experience. You will also join our Hays Refer a Friend Scheme where you could be entitled to receiving £250 in high street vouchers.
