Permanent, Jan 2018, French and German MFL, Ofsted 'Outstanding' Grammar school, full time, paid to scale.
Hays Education are currently working on behalf of an Ofsted 'Outstanding' boys Grammar school based in Aston to recruit for an MFL (French and German) teacher for a permanent post. This is a full time teaching role to start from January 2018. All applications are being handled on an exclusive basis through Hays Education and visits to the school can be arranged.
Your new School
This is a multi-ethnic, selective school for boys, being one of the eight schools in Birmingham that make up a large Foundation. The school has been part of the Aston community since 1883 and has strong links with many local schools and organisations primarily through the work of the school's Sports Partnership. They have the highest expectations of their students, not only in their academic performance, but in their commitment to extra-curricular activities be it in sport, drama, music or wider community service. By the age of eighteen they expect all students to be articulate, well-educated young men, capable of independent thought with the confidence and flexibility to face future challenges. In addition we expect students to leave the school understanding the importance of tolerance and the value of integrity. 'The curriculum is outstanding in both the main school and sixth form because it fully meets the future needs and current interests of students (Ofsted)'
Your new Role
In your new secondary teaching job you will be expected to plan interesting and challenging MFL (French and German) lessons that will engage pupils and you will have the natural ability to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm. For the first two terms the timetable will be split between full classes and intervention lessons. The role is offered as 2/3 French and 1/3 German. Moving into the new academic year you will then be offered a full timetable of classes rather than intervention. You will need to be experienced teaching up to KS5 and be familiar with the up to date MFL curriculum. Due to the nature of the role it is offered as a 'paid to scale' post (MPS/UPS).
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold QTS. You will be an experienced MFL (French and German) teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
