Medical Insurance Case Handler

The working hours for this role are Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30 - there are no evening or weekend shifts. Please note that due to our location (near the Severn Bridge, BS35 4BL) there is no public transport links so your own transport is essential.

IQED, part of the Brightside Group, is currently recruiting a number of new Case Handlers to join our Head Office in Aust. IQED is a Tier 1 medico legal company regulated by Medco. We are a well-established, profitable and forward thinking medical reporting business that has strong relationships with a number of leading insurance and legal companies through managing their end to end medical reporting requirements.

As a Case Handler you will be responsible for managing the medical reporting and treatment requirements on behalf of claimants which fall part of a multitude of different claim types, including personal injury, clinical negligence and medical negligence. This involves sourcing appropriate medical experts from an established panel, arranging claimant’s medical consultations and liaising with the claimant’s solicitor. The case life cycle is managed by an industry recognised system called Proclaim and you will use this to track the progress of your cases.

Previous medical or legal experience is not required as comprehensive technical and soft skill training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities for a Case Handler

·To manage medical reporting and treatment requirements on behalf of a claimant.

·To manage the expectations of the client by effectively managing the case within agreed timelines.

·To gain a sound understanding of the Proclaim and how each case progresses effectively.

·To develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all clients and continue to build trust in the services we provide, ensuring that the client’s expectations are managed appropriately and professionally.

·To build rapport and confidence with the Claimant and ensure their medical treatment progresses smoothly.

·Manage your individual time effectively in line with an agreed productivity framework.

Essential Criteria

·Positive, forward thinking attitude and approach.

·Ability to utilise and learn mainstream (Microsoft Word, Excel) and bespoke IT systems.

·English and Maths GCSE (Grades A – C) or equivalent level qualification.

·Strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with outside agencies, clients and colleagues.

·The ability to manage a large workload, undertaking and completing several tasks simultaneously.

·Highly organised with the ability to competently complete tasks.
