Cataracts, glaucoma, we all have relatives who have been or will be affected – our mission is to make it easier for clinicians to treat these (and other) conditions to defend against sight loss, nearly 50% of which is avoidable. In fact, cataract surgery is the most widely performed operation in the NHS today.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A SQL Server expert with tenacity, attention to detail and an intuitive feel for IT. You will be enthused by the opportunity to be on the team who implement and support the UK’s leading system for eye care.
You will be responsible for implementing, upgrading and extending our SQL-based application on customer infrastructure, as well as investigating and resolving related technical queries.
You will be an integral part of our Technical Operations team, working closely with Support, Account Management, Designers and Developers of the system as well as our customers. As we’re a smaller company, you will be exposed to all elements of the business, including new software and interface implementation. Therefore you will have chance to contribute both to software development plans and improving our internal infrastructure.
JOB ROLE AND PURPOSE

2. Problem solve technical issues and underlying root causes
1. Discover, analyse, document and satisfy implementation requirements
2. Methodically investigate and resolve issues such as bugs or performance problems
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES
1. Quickly understand and use new concepts, technologies and systems
2. Learn from experience and continually improve skills, practice and process
Excellent team working and communication skills are a given and you will also have some of the following skills/experience:·Great T-SQL skills;·DBA experience;·Ability to understand, modify and test software scripts or code;·Ideally some exposure to administering Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory or TCP/IP networking.
WHAT WE OFFER
The post is a 37.5 hour weekday role. You will be based in our offices in central Leeds with the occasional requirement to travel to customer sites. Leeds is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with excellent transport links, affordable housing and beautiful countryside nearby, so this could provide an ideal relocation opportunity.
