Accounting Assistant Manager, International Music and Entertainment Specialist Accountancy Firm

A market leading, international accountancy firm specialising in music, sports and entertainment clients. Due to their commitments to their clients and making the industry better, they are able to provide expert advice and clarity on complex international accounting, international tax, business management and more. By providing their clients with clear solutions to complex problems, managing money with absolute integrity and resolving the trickiest of tax issues, they are able to maintain long standing relationships with their clients. Due to growth within their tour accounting team, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Accounting Manager.

Your new role
The touring department is a vibrant, fast paced accounting team at the centre of the practice. You will be working with newly signed bands and artists to globally recognised artists and pop-stars. In your new role, you will be responsible for overseeing the review process of UK and foreign touring clients. You will be tasked with preparing management accounts, credit control, commission reporting and accruals and prepayments. As an Assistant Manager, you will also be responsible for mentoring and assisting with the training of junior staff, as well as reviewing their work. This includes reviewing tour and promo reports, viewing VAT returns, reviewing analysis of expense receipts and card statements. Finally you will provide general support and assistance to the Account Manager.

What you'll need to succeed
A passion for the entertainment industry is essential or this role. Although previous experience of music clients is not essential for the role, an understanding and appreciation of how a tour team operates and experience in all aspects of bookkeeping and management accounting is required. Previous experience of working in an accountancy firm is desirable and you should be studying towards the ACCA (with papers sat and passed). Finally you should have excellent attention to detail, be proactive and self-motivated and have strong communication skills.
