This is a rare & exciting opportunity for an experienced European Financial Controller to join a highly successful, rapidly expanding £7Bn t/o global blue-chip as FC for its UK & European Operations. Operating as the No 1 in Finance in the UK, and reporting to the VP for Europe, this is a broad & autonomous role with full P&L responsibility across the Groups UK & European regions comprising 10 countries and a combined t/o of over £450m. As European FC your remit will include:

  • Developing & implementing ?nance strategies & plans to support global & regional business strategy & objectives.
  • Developing & deploying ?nancial frameworks & modern and sophisticated measures for tracking business performance.
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress towards achievement of budgets & targets.
  • Providing on time, accurate business information & analysis.
  • Ensuring SAP functionality is optimised, & extensively applied and leveraged across the business.
  • Establishing & maintaining a modern & effective control framework.
  • Application of professional & corporate governance standards.
  • Development of local procedures to ensure compliance with group policies.
  • Production of regional management & ?nancial statutory reporting requirements.
  • Taking ownership for localised & regional ?nancial systems & processes.
  • Providing ?nance business partnering support to the UK and European Board and Senior Management Team.
  • Investment and contract approval evaluations for the region.
  • Capex Management.
  • Managing & Developing a direct finance team of 10 and an indirect team of 4.
  • Tax, transfer pricing and IFRS.

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA Financial Controllers and must have previous experience in a similar profile role with European P&L responsibility. Commercially astute with strong business analysis and presentation skills you will have a proven track record of delivering operational improvements, projects & business initiatives and will have a track record of optimising company performance through forging strong business partner relationships. You will be familiar with working as part of a diverse, multi-cultural internationally based senior management team and will have the credibility & adaptability to enthuse and inspire a broad and diverse audience. SAP & Hyperion knowledge would be advantageous. A competitive salary (£75-85k basic) is complemented with impressive benefits including Bonus (10-20%), Company Car/Allowance, Healthcare, 25 days holiday and Pension. Due to the nature of this role there will be an average of 2 days per month travelling in Europe.
