The role interfaces between Finance and Internal Supply and trading division on all commercial matters. Role is responsible for driving and ensuring adherence to a robust control framework covering all supply-chain activities of International Supply and Trading Division. In addition, the role will ensure adequate and timely documentation with respect to all physical and derivative trades concerning International trade.

To also support other cross functional activities by delivering cash flow forecasts, budget and cost control, month end accounting and various MIS / analytical information to Senior Management.

Principal Accountabilities:

·Ensure/drive robust financial evaluation/control process/framework covering all supply-chain activities undertaken by the International Supply & Trading Division. To evaluate the adequacy / appropriateness of various controls & checks and ensure these are implemented and operated effectively in the work processes.

·Crude/product import/export contracts - Financial concurrence/ vetting of commercial terms, check invoices, timely payments, accounting and documentation

·Analyse and report on commercial decisions w.r.t. physical / derivative trades, risks associated with/arising therefrom, possible actions to mitigate risks, analysis on market price movements and economic impact on physical / derivative trade positions.

·Check demurrage calculations for oil shipments + timely payments and accounting.

·Timely payment/receipt of all trade/derivative transactions including adequate documentation and appropriate accounting and reconciliation with counterparties.

·Deliver Cash flow forecasts to Treasury covering all Physical/derivative trades entered in to by the Trading/Risk Management desks. Cargo insurances – ensure on-time and adequacy of cover.

·Timely submission of accurate MIS/Reports/status of open trades/positions and other information required by the management from time to time

·Develop and maintain healthy business relationship with counterparties, ensure adequacy of credit lines for derivative trade, negotiate open credit terms, export advances with counterparties, coordinate audits, evaluate financial robustness of potential counterparties’ from a credit perspective and ensure protection for counterparty credit risk for trades undertaken, etc.

·Audit coordination – Internal and Statutory.

·SAP/software – ensure processes and systems are fit for purposes and drive automation for better control and efficiencies.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience, Key Challenges:

Educational Qualifications & Certification

·Chartered Accountant or equivalent is essential

·Certification in Trade finance/commodity/forex market is preferable

Functional Skills

·Knowledge about oil markets – physical and derivatives is essential

·strong Analytical skills

·sap working knowledge of mm, sd & fi module is preferable

·strong negotiation skills

·Ability to build, lead and guidea team

·Good networking skills

·Communication skills

Relevant (functional/level) & total years of experience

·Significant relevant experience with good exposure to physical and derivatives market ; and

Proven experience in an upstream / midstream oil company


Strong commercial and financial awareness

Excellent knowledge of International oil trade, derivatives/hedging trades and documentation

Communication, leadership skills and ability to get along as a team

Strong knowledge of Excel/MS office, well verse with international trade related softwares/ publications, Reuters/Platts, etc.

Takes initiative, creative and analytical thinker,

Speed of delivery with eye for accuracy
