A reputable Norwich based organisation are looking to recruit a PQ or Newly Qualified Group Accountant.
Your new company
You will based at the Head Office in Norwich for an ambitious, global business. As a Group Accountant, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for supporting timely, accurate and reliable management information for the Group. You will deliver accounting and reporting for centrally managed holding and financing companies and assist with tax reporting and statuary requirements.
Your new role
Part of a team of three, you will personally be responsible for eight intermediate holding/financing companies operating from the corporate office. This will include day to day accounting, month-end close and reporting processes. You will prepare the quarterly VAT returns and liaise with external auditors for interim audit, year-end audit and submission of tax packs. You will have the opportunity to support the monthly consolidation process for best guess, actuals forecast and the annual budget process. Preparing and reviewing the monthly tax tracker report, the Quarterly Instalments of Payments (QIP) calculations and the CT61 forms on a quarterly basis for review will also form part of the role. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in ad-hoc project work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant who is process driven and commercially focused. You will have experience of all aspects of accounting and month-end close and be familiar with key aspects of complex international multi-currency consolidations. The ability to manipulate large and complex volumes of data, coupled with strong Excel skills is paramount. You will be professional and confident operating in a corporate office environment which will include interaction with Board members and therefore excellent interpersonal skills are a must. Some experience of UK corporation tax and VAT compliance is preferable. There will also be an expectation that you will have the confidence to challenge existing processes and practices to identify and deliver enhancements and improvements to Group reporting processes, financial systems and the internal control framework.
