The successful candidate will have a valid SC Clearance or be willing to apply for one on CV submission. Job Description:Developing; maintaining and documenting appropriate plans and controls for the project/programme in line with the departments Change Lifecycle/Agile delivery methodology Ensuring the appropriate governance disciplines are observed Reviewing project and supplier documentation and plans to highlight any issues that may compromise delivery Facilitating resolution of project issues and mitigation of project risks Maintaining project documentation Making a constructive contribution to project management processes Making effective use of the departments Change Lifecycle; MSP Agile standard processes and other required standards Produce project documentation e.g. plans Manage dependencies; assumptions and other controls Arrange; prepare materials for; facilitate; chair and document meetings Monitor and report on progress Define project resources including staff; contractors Assure plans; project controls and progress reports Manage QA processes Demonstrate learnings achieved on the project Track record of successful delivery in an equivalent role with equivalent level of responsibility in complex Projects Knowledge of industry standard methods and tools e.g. MSP Experience of working successfully with staff and representatives from business teams to deliver business change initiatives Experience of working successfully in large; complex organisations.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:Provide technical project management support within the STSP PgMO in order to deliver Generic Soldier Architecture, the Soldier System Integration Unit (SSIU) and STSP wide engineering enablers. In doing so, assist the development and maintenance of the Integration Design Authority role for the DCC soldier, subject to the defined view of that system below. This is to include: Soldier System design functions: Project management of the delivery and maintenance of an accepted and programmatically-useful view of the DCC Soldier System. Management of the configuration control of the Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) soldier through provision of a configuration management process and management of configuration change boards. Management of DCC Soldier System Engineering and other artefacts, including use cases, MODAF views and functional architectures. Use and development of Soldier System tools: Project management of the initial provision of Human Factors impacts analysis by the use of HF Modelling tools including virtual tools, to determine the effect that new equipment has on wider DCC soldier capability. Project management of the maintenance of the Soldier data model elements of the Land Data Model. Project management of the maintenance of the Common Battlefield Test Facility (CBTF) Performance baseline data. To include the maintenance and tailoring of test specifications as necessary. With the PgMO Trials Support team, management of use of the CBTF. Co-ordination and advice: Provide the project management interface with STSP soldier system procuring project teams for the integration of equipment onto the DCC soldier. Provide project management interface with DE&S project teams procuring equipment for the integration of equipment onto the DCC soldier. Provide project management interface with the DCC Soldier SME community to provide specialist advice or to define the advice needed from external sources. Project manage and co-ordinate provision of SME advice for the PgMO, including DSTL and FATS tasking, progress meetings and synchronisation of deliverables to tie into the DCC soldier programme. General:Work with PgMO Eng to ensure that the risks, issues, EngMP, PMP for the PgMO Engr-related activities are up to date. Provide and update an SSIU Engineering Management Plan.
Additional Information: Project Management experience on technical projects. Ideally experience in land domain (specifically soldier systems).
