PRE SALES CONSULTANT - London - As a Pre-Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical support, design and consultancy for external customer Information Technology solutions to be delivered, hosted, managed and supported. As a Pre-Sales Consultant, you will have a broad range of IT knowledge across the entire product portfolio and will be able to deliver solutions to customer requirements or coordinate with subject matter experts to bring together the required information. As a Pre-Sales Consultant, you must be able to understand customer's existing and desired environments in order to develop a strategy for on premise and cloud/hybrid based solutions. Familiarity with Enterprise Networking is seen as central to many projects and is, a specific requirement. This role requires a good understanding of our entire portfolio of services coupled with the ability to translate requirements into solutions that can be managed by the operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend customer meetings to:
  • Establish requirements from a business and technical perspective
  • Understand customer environments and the process of migrating to the new design
  • Support sales in proposing solutions and services to meet requirements
  • Maintain close working relationships with relevant contacts at all times
  • Perform product/concept demonstrations and presentations to support sales process
  • Generate professional documentation, including sales proposals, scope of works, design specifications and consultancy documents
  • Ensure that all activities are scoped and priced accurately to achieve profit projections
  • On occasions, perform fee-earning business and technical consultancy services
  • Attain and maintain appropriate manufacturer accreditations/certifications as required by:
  • Self-study of manuals, web and appropriate text books
  • Formal training courses as agreed necessary with manager
  • Ensure that KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Other activities as deemed necessary from time to time, in keeping with the role and within experience level

Pre-Sales Technology Skills

Though not exhaustive a successful candidate should have experience and knowledge in as many of the following technology areas as possible, with a broad industry knowledge:

  • VMWare cloud technologies together with public cloud such as AWS and Azure
  • Microsoft applications- Skype for Business, Exchange, O365, Active Directory and Azure
  • Cisco Network technologies, LAN/WAN/Wireless and Mobility
  • Security solutions for enterprise, endpoint and applications
  • Device lifecycle management methodology, (Software and end user device inc MDM)
  • Managed service design and implementation
  • Business voice systems, Hosted Telephony, Unified Communications, VoIP and SIP
  • Familiarity with creating and managing complex BOMs, (e.g. using Cisco Commerce Workspace)
  • Monitoring, application and performance tools
  • ITIL v3 Foundation or Equivalent knowledge in service management
  • Existing Vendor accreditations an advantage, especially Cisco and Microsoft

  • Discipline in carrying out technical consultancy activities following department systems and procedures

  • Genuine interest in keeping abreast of the technologies and applications that are appropriate to Telephony
  • Can present technical concepts in authoritative and clear manner to customers presenting to both a technical and non-technical audience and different roles at all organisational levels
  • Have experience leading customer workshops exploring requirements and mapping solutions
  • Negotiation and objection handling skills
  • Business awareness and commercial acumen
  • Organisational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Able to take a creative approach to situations and problem-solving

As a Pre-Sales Consultant we require Proven knowledge and understanding of IT systems and solutions, Experience working in a Pre-Sales role or environment, Working knowledge of the service provider market place, Experience in the design of customer-facing IT services and solutions, Ability to engage with customers professionally at all levels and a Valid UK driving licence. The salary for this West London based Pre-Sales Consultant is £50,000 + Benefits package - Pension, Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance.
