Job description Teaching Assistant - Arabic Speaking
Start date 08 January 2018 - part time, 5 mornings per week (24 hours per week)

A large inner-city primary school in Cardiff are currently looking for an Arabic speaking Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a year 2 pupil. This job is 5 mornings per week, on a long-term and ongoing basis, to commence in January 2018. You will be working within the year 2 class to support a pupil with visual impairment. This will also involve helping to prepare learning materials and contributing towards a safe and enjoyable learning environment for the pupil. A part of this job role will also involve liaising with the child's parents with regards to the progress of the child and the handing over of homework, as well as keeping them informed with school processes and events relating to the child.

The right person for this job will need to be fluent in all aspects of the Arabic language. You will also need to have a good level of spoken and written English in the interest of helping the child to access the curriculum in the best way possible.

This position will be working 5 mornings per week on a long-term and ongoing basis. We are looking for someone who is able to start work on 8th January 2018.

In order to apply for this position, you will need;

  • Fluency in all aspects of the Arabic language
  • A good level of written and spoken English
  • Recent and relevant experience of working within a similar job role, supporting pupils in a school/classroom setting in line with British National Curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • To be able to provide relevant references for your experience
  • A good understanding of the National Curriculum and Primary School standards
