The Senior Market Manager will be responsible for our London team and their performance.They will set and lead the strategy for a market which is crucial to our businesses and for our performance against EBITDA.

We’re looking for people who are able to demonstrate qualities which ultimately facilitate the growth of revenues through maximising partner relations, a combination of strong inspirational leadership, excellent people management and people development skills with the overarching objective to deliver against the UK strategic plan. You must be commercially astute, an excellent negotiator and able to set challenging targets for your team and for the business.

This person will be a senior member of the Hotel Relationships team and will have more than 3 years’ experience of team and account management at a senior level.

Principal Accountabilities:

Strategic development of the London team:

  • To set and achieve our Market & product strategy in line with business objectives and KPI’s through leading a high performing team
  • To lead by example through the contribution that your own Hotel portfolio contributes to the overall business
  • To protect and grow our biggest hotel partners and commercial relationships; through close Account management, quarterly business review meetings, regular calls and identifying all opportunities to grow our mutual business
  • To manage our contracting with suppliers and ensuring we achieve best market rates and availability
  • To proactively and regularly report to the Head of Hotel Relationships and SLT on trends we are seeing in London and identify opportunities and risks for the business and an action plan to mitigate
  • To constantly look for efficiencies in ways of working, processes to improve and technology improvements to systems and the extranet to reduce manual overheads for the team and to improve our performance
  • Daily and weekly reporting on performance, to be reported back within weekly trading meetings and to Head of Hotel Relationships.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Target driven, highly motivated individual
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with strong written and verbal skills
  • Flexible attitude and ability to multi-task
  • Experience of managing a large or multiple teams
  • Pro-active and self-starter approach to work
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Leading by example
  • Ability to comprehensively analyse data and adapt activity to maximise commercial return
  • Background within the travel industry (essential)
  • Proficient with excel and PowerPoint (essential)
