Your new school
This school is a boys rural High School of 500 pupils, including 70 in the Sixth Form. The school Situated near the border of England and Ross-on-wye. It is around forty minutes from, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr, and just under an hour from Cardiff, Newport areas. The Welsh Government have categorised this as a 'Green' school in terms of support required. Staff adopt a whole school approach to learning and achievement, which is reflected in the results achieved and the positive and proactive attitude of pupils.
Your new role
Starting in October you will work as part of a Maths department made up of four experienced teachers. You will be responsible for full teaching responsibilities (including planning and preparation) for a KS3 and KS4 Maths timetable. In addition to your teaching responsibilities you will cover other subjects in the school when required. This is a long term role and could possibly become a permanent post depending upon performance.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher registered with the Education Workforce Council. You will have previous experience of teaching Maths in a secondary school. You will have a passion for learning and have a strong track record of helping pupils to achieve results. You will also possess strong behaviour and classroom management skills. You share a commitment to safeguarding and hold a DBS check.
