The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this 6 month temporary contract based in Leeds. Please note: This assignment sits outside of IR35.
Job Description:• In charge if a multi-disciplinary team of Agile: Developers, Designers, and Analysts.
• Leading the collaborative, dynamic planning process; prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team.
• Managing linkages between teams, ensuring good lines of communication, and effective reporting in an agile environment.
• Have the ability to: work closely with the Product Owner to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories; matrix-manage a multi-disciplinary team; ensure the products are built to an appropriate level of quality; demonstrate the ability to keep the long-term solution in focus and plan for risk; understand and manage financial forecasts and actuals in an agile environment; Proactively remove blockers to ensure that work is delivered.
• Experience of: delivering projects and products using the appropriate Agile Project Management methodology, learning and iterating frequently is a necessity; working in a multi-team portfolio delivery structure; and working with secure systems is essential.
• Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent experience managing software delivery to customers in a number of environments.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:Responsibility for delivery of the projects across a range of GP Data related projects, accountable to the Programme Head, creating and enabling the engagement and governance frameworks for successful delivery. Lead, plan, design and manage this work, including interdependencies with other programmes and across Domains. Manage risks and issues at a programme level and initiate corrective actions. Liaison with all the key stakeholders, ensuring that the GP Data Implementation programme is fully aligned with other internal and external national programmes. Managing a team of 10+ and matrix management across SME resources to support successful running delivery of this phase of work
Knowledge & Skills: • An understanding of requirements, current issues & challenges for Health and Social Care. • Solid understanding of agile delivery management practices, tools and techniques and effective risk management. • Excellent awareness of Service Management practices and principles. • Hold the skills to build positive relationships and interfaces, and the ability to motivate others. • Demonstrable experience leading a delivery team as a product lead / product owner / scrum master role • Solid knowledge of creating and using metrics to analyse and improve team performance • Experience of providing supporting with creating user stories, backlog items and managing input to project boards. • In-depth professional knowledge in a number of disciplines e.g. financial management, performance management, information systems, staff management acquired through training and experience over an extended period. • Knowledge of the political and cultural aspects of delivering change across complex organisations.
Experience Required:• Proven ability and supporting experience of successfully planning, developing and managing a portfolio of major programmes/projects within a large complex programme environment and across organisational boundaries involving multi-disciplinary teams.
