This company are a major player in their market sector, with factories across the globe. The Manchester site has seen a strong period of growth over the last couple of years and is regarded as one of the best performing sites in the company. Due to a retirement, they are looking for an electrically biased multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join the team.
Your new role
This is a multi-skilled role, supporting the business by reacting swiftly to machine/equipment breakdowns and working on planned maintenance activities to help defend against preventable machine failures and improve overall reliability. You will also support the team with the overhaul and improvement of existing equipment and (occasionally) the installation of new equipment. This role is based within a fast-paced production environment, so a proactive and highly responsive approach is required in order that breakdowns are dealt with swiftly, while opportunities to reduce the likelihood of future failures are also highlighted.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for an electrically biased multi-skilled engineer with experience of providing reactive (breakdown) and planned maintenance support within in a fast-paced production environment. You will have a pro-active approach to your work and feel the urgency for resolving breakdowns as quickly as possible to enable the shift teams to meet their production targets. You will also be committed to improving reliability by identifying opportunities to prevent future machine/equipment failures through planned maintenance activities and continuous improvement. Experience of working with PLC's (eg. Siemens/Allen Bradley) is required for this role. Experience working with rubber mixing, converting and coating plant would be an advantage (but not essential).
