One of the world's largest defence organisations are seeking Flight Simulator Engineers to work on site at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire. This permanent position is responsible for providing ongoing operational support to a variety of large and small scale flight simulation equipment. In addition, you will be performing planned and corrective maintenance as and when required. These opportunities would suit ex-forces personnel with experience working as an Avionic Technician / Avionic Engineer. Skills Required Proven Flight Simulator experience or transferable Aircraft Engineering Experience. Ability to interpret schematics, drawings and electrical wire diagrams. Solid understanding of both digital and analogue electronic theories. Able to calibrate, install, maintain, repair, and test flight simulator(s) and associated support equipment. Excellent Communication and Technical writing skills are a must. Able to work flexible shifts that include earlies, lates and weekends as required. Role may involve some international travel for training purposes. Will hold B Tech ONC/HNC or equivalent experience Desired Skills Experience in Distributed Training and Mission Rehearsal operations. Experience with Image Generators and Main Frame Computers. Experience with aircrew training devices (flight simulators). Experience with live, virtual, constructive training. Knowledgeable and experienced with the use of test equipment; to include Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Strip chart recorders, Logic Analysers, Frequency Analysers, and DVM's. Qualified in soldering techniques.
