This accountancy practice has 19 directors and 3 offices in the North west, based in Manchester, Bolton and Lancaster. After a recent merger, this firm now has a presence UK wide offering services in Accountancy, payroll, Audit, Tax and business advisory and a total of 37 offices across the UK. This firm operates a transparent culture with clear progression plans.This firm acknowledges that their people are their greatest asset and without them, they will not achieve success, so our clients are not the only ones they help to grow. This firm are looking to recruit 6 new tax professionals to add to their corporate tax function due to organic growth, and their upcoming plans for acquisition.
Your new role
The role will be divided between the management of a Corporate Tax portfolio and assisting the Directors with tax advisory projects.The Corporate Tax portfolio consists of a range of owner-managed businesses, corporate groups and professional partnerships across a wide range of industries and sizes from £10 -£40million turnover. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of compliance returns, billing and WIP management, as well as advisory work for your own portfolio. Never resting on their laurels, you will continually look for ways to improve their departmental processes and procedures and working with the firm-wide Tax team, drive the implementation of these across the teams. You will provide support to the Directors on various advisory projects, including planning for entrepreneurs, working with the Corporate Finance team on transactional tax projects (on acquisitions, disposals and restructuring, for instance) and group reorganisations.
What you'll need to succeed
As the ideal candidate, you will be a highly motivated and confident individual, with an eagerness to make the role your own and to 'go the extra mile'. You will recognise the importance of a team approach and have a genuine desire to be part of a team. It is essential that you have strong inter-personal skills and are a good communicator. You will have strong technical tax knowledge from a practice environment and a commitment to finishing the job on time and to budget. In addition you will establish a genuine rapport with your clients, be able to identify a need and suggest the best solution for the client and their business and be able to provide an excellent customer service in line with the rest of their brand. You will either be ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified and ideally, you will be CTA, although this firm will still consider your application if you aren't.
