Steam and Hot Water Network Engineer SSE Enterprise, Slough Heat & Power Location: Slough Salary: £31,000 - £46,500 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. Slough Heat and Power (SHP), part of SSE plc, provides electrical power to the Slough Trading Estate by means of a private electrical power network. It owns and operates a number of primary and secondary substations including 33kV, 11kV and LV assets. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Steam and Hot Water Network Engineer will provide the technical lead on all estate steam, hot water and related mechanical assets and to ensure the compliance with statuary regulations such as PSSR and to continually improve the reliability and productivity of the steam network supplying the industrial estate. Within this role, you'll manage the scope and process of the plant outages and continual improvement of asset integrity, mechanical expertise and competence to deliver a high standard of work execution on estate steam and mechanical equipment that ensures the safety, reliability, flexibility and efficiency of plant and equipment is maintained to meet the Company's requirements. As a key member of the engineering team, you'll be expected to make significant contributions to the delivery of the estate steam and hot water asset maintenance and outage workscopes, including day to day maintenance of estate steam and mechanical assets including monitoring requirements for inspections to comply with statutory needs and align these with the most cost effective timing for minimum financial impact. You'll act as liaison for the estate customers for faults reported and arranging isolations required to carry out maintenance activities, specifically for the steam and hot water network. To be successful in this role, you'll hold a HNC in relevant Mechanical engineering discipline and be educated to a minimum standard of City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent and have served a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. You'll be competent in the use of Maximo for work control and have strong planning skills to manage outages in line with SSE outage excellence. You'll work with both internal and external stakeholders in the management PSSR and act a positive team player, actively seeking best practice to bring knowledge into the team.
